MONTCLAIR, NJ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Bowery Presents has teamed with Andy Feltz to re-open the historic Wellmont Theater in Montclair, N.J., under the banner of Montclair Entertainemnt.
The Bowery Presents operates The Bowery Ballroom and the Mercury Lounge and Terminal 5 along with the recently opened Music Hall of Williamsburg but this will be their first venture across the river in New Jersey. Andy Feltz is a seasoned promoter who ran the Beacon Theatre in New York from 1986 and currently promotes at the United Palace Theater.
The venue will undergo an extensive $3 million dollar renovation to remove seating on the main floor, and the slanted floor will be sculpted into three tiers rising away from the front of the stage to provide a flexible set-up to hold 2,000 or more people. The newly renovated space will feature state-of-the-art sound, lighting, broadcasting and recording systems, which will also have the capability to be used for Internet, TV and radio broadcasts.
