Bronchitis Ends Queens Of The Stone Age Tour

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Queens of the Stone Age were forced to cancel their European tour on Tuesday after Josh Homme, lead singer of the alternative rock outfit, was diagnosed with a severe case of bronchitis.

Homme had been struggling with flu-like symptoms for close to a week before his condition weakened. He first felt ill on February 16 when they were in Amsterdam, but did not give up on the tour until February 22 in Paris.

Homme has returned to the United States to rest and recover.

In a statement released on the band’s website, the other members said: “We’ve toured with everything from broken ankles to bruised livers, but simply weren’t prepared for this relentless attack of teeming bacteria…This is an obvious downer for everyone involved…For those of you with unused tickets, hold onto them…We ain’t in the habit of canceling, and we don’t forget.”

The band is scheduled to begin a U.S. tour on March 15 in Austin, Texas. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
