Camden Crawl Goes Into Liquidation

LONDON (VIP NEWS) — London’s indie and alternative festival Camden Crawl has been placed in voluntary liquidation, organizers have confirmed.

The long-running two-day event, which takes place annually in North London’s Camden district, recently celebrated its 19th anniversary.

According to a statement posted today on Camden Crawl’s website, lower than expected ticket sales for this year’s June 21/22 edition has left organizers Crawl Promotions “unable to pay its debts in full to any suppliers, staff or the company’s directors and shareholders.”

“Because of this completely unanticipated situation and after nearly ten years of successfully promoting the Camden Crawl festival, it is with great regret and sadness that there has been no other option than to convene meetings for the purpose of placing the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation,” the statement went on to say.

Camden Crawl first took place in 1995 and soon became regarded as a key date on the indie festival circuit. Adele, Amy Winehouse, Florence and the Machine, Disclosure and Mumford and Sons are among the hundreds of acts who have previously appeared at the festival, which was this year rebranded CC14 and featured performances from D/R/U/G/S, Mazes, Of Montreal and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, among others. –According to Billboard
