Charges Dropped In Heafield Fraud Case

JOHANNESBURG, SA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A fraud charge against South African promoter Duncan Heafield has been dropped by the court the Sunday Times has reported

The charges wre filed last month in connection with a complaint that Heafield had misrepresented himself as an officer of a company, 3CAfrica, that had been deregistered, allegedly using its credit to gain R750,000.

Heafield reportedly produced sufficient documentation in court to dispel any doubts about the existence of 3CAfrica.

This doesn't clear him of another fraud charge still hanging over his head, this one brought by the Krok family, to the tune of R33-million. The Kroks are claiming that they financed the South African leg of Canadian songbird Celine Dion's recent tour. In this matter, Heafield remains free on R150,000 bail. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
