Charles Cutts Announces Retirement From Roy Thomson Hall/Massey Hall

TORONTO, Ontario (CelebrityAccess) — Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall has announced that their President and Chief Executive Officer Charles S. Cutts is planning to retire on August 31, at the conclusion of the 2014|15 concert season. Mr. Cutts has served in that role since 1992, overseeing thousands of concerts and events at the venue in that time.

Mr. Cutts began his career in 1969 as a Chartered Accountant with Clarkson Gordon Management Consultants (currently known as Ernst & Young). He also served as General Manager of The O’Keefe Centre (currently SONY Centre for the Performing Arts) before taking helm of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall.

The venue said it will form a search committee to identify a suitable replacement for Mr. Cutts.

“The privilege of being a part of such a vibrant creative community is most rewarding. It has been a true honour to work alongside so many great friends and talents over the past 23 years,” says Charles Cutts. “I am proud to be leaving the Corporation with a solid foundation to build on the exciting plans we are currently developing with the artists, music, and the patron experience as our first priority, and a bright future for a revitalized Massey Hall.” – Staff Writers
