City Negotiating With IMG To Run nTelos Pavilion

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – The city of Portsmouth, Virginia, has announced that it is negotiating with Integrated Management Group to run the nTelos Pavilion at Harbor Center, and officials hope to have a contract finalized by the end of the year.

IMG is a Virginia Beach company that comprises two former Cellar Door executives, Ken MacDonald and Mike Jones. Both men were executives at that company when it ran the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

The city received proposals from five companies to run the $13 million publicly owned amphitheater in September.

In a letter written to council members, City Manager James B. Oliver Jr. said IMG was the top company chosen by a panel of city employees, residents and concert venue experts. Compass Facility Management, an Iowa-based company, was the second choice.

Harbor Center Joint Venture, the company that has run the amphitheater for the past five years, tied for third with Clear Channel Entertainment, according to city documents released to the paper. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
