Country Music Entertainment Extravaganza Brings Jobs To Alabama

DOTHAN, AL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Developer Ronnie Gilley creates 2,000 jobs through Country Crossing, an entertainment destination situated in rural Southeast Alabama. Alabama currently has the tenth fastest growing unemployment rate in the country.

Country Crossing is designed as a country music entertainment extravaganza with country music star-themed venues and attractions. The development opened on December 1, 2009, and has nearly completed construction of the first of three phases.

The project's job creation is expected to employ nearly 8,000 people at the height of development and will level to more than 6,000 jobs once all phases of the project are complete.

"Our drive to make this development a reality is simple — create jobs and economic stimulus for the state of Alabama," says Gilley. "We are using private investment funds to bring about a significant change for our state. The taxpayers have given enough, and we have acknowledged that."

Country Crossing is privately funded and is supported overwhelmingly by the citizens of the county in which it is located. Local elected officials and business leaders have applauded the efforts of the development to bring about a change to the downward spiraling economy.

Gilley adds, "As we move forward with this project, the state will begin to capture tourist revenue that will add to the depleting tax coffers of Alabama. We have been able to do this without using taxpayer money and we will continue to benefit our state this way."

The entertainment venue is expected to provide between $2-5 million per year for local charities, contribute significantly to the tax revenue of the county and state, attract out-of-state vacationers to the state and continue to create jobs. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
