The Florida Music Awards Show & Festival will be held May 16-17 at the Bergeron Fairgrounds, that features a 5,000+ seat covered pavilion in Davie, FL. The Florida Music Awards will be recognizing Ray Charles and the Bee Gees with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Charles will perform a full show with the Peter Graves Orchestra. Also performing will be last year’s multi-award-winning artists, the Hep Cat Boo Daddies and Dana Paul with more artists to be announced. The May 17 all-day line up will be announced shortly.
"Our direct mission with the Florida Music Awards is to honor deserving musicians of the state for their significant accomplishments," says Wayne Koss, the president of the show and festival. "Without helping to nurture and recognize true talent, the vast majority of quality musicians give up their craft. It's sad, it happens everywhere, shows like this help provide something to aspire too while providing substantial recognition."
The festival will also benefit the American Cancer Society, the Children’s Opportunity Group and Jack &Jill Children's Center, which works to break the cycle of poverty for children of low income working families. The Center provides childcare programs as well as support services and intervention for the whole family.
