IE Music Buys Stake In This Is Music

LONDON (VIP-NEWS) — London-based artist management firmie ie:music, which guides the career of Robbie Williams among others, has bought an undisclosed equity stake in rival This is Music.

As a result of the deal, the two businesses will collaborate on identifying new commercial models for their artists that are "both fair and transparent," according to a statement released today.

Founded by Tim Clark and David Enthoven, ie:music's roster includes Sia, Craig Armstrong, Passenger, Archive and the Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

Its new partner, This Is Music, was founded by its managing director Oli Isaacs, and counts the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, James Ford, A-Trak, FrankMusik, Little Boots, Findlay Brown and The Black Ghosts among its artist clients.

"[Isaacs] has, in a very short space of time, built a remarkable roster of awesomely talented artistes and is managing and promoting them with consummate skill," comments Clark in a statement. "Oli and his team at This Is Music are part of a new generation of young and innovative managers at the forefront of challenging the accepted conventions of the music industry."

Isaacs adds, "This is Music can only benefit through this new joint venture and we are delighted to have this opportunity to work alongside one of most visionary companies in the business."

Clark and Enthoven were the team behind Williams' groundbreaking integrated deal with EMI Group in 2002, which was widely reported in the British press as carrying a value of £80 million, according to Billboard
