Jeff Fryer Joins Knitting Factory

New York (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Knitting Factory Entertainment (KFE), the leading authority on live emerging music, today announced the appointment of Jeff Fryer as Label Relations and Content Development Manager. In this role, Mr. Fryer will lead KFE efforts to build relationships with independent and major record labels and drive innovative content development initiatives that will extend the reach of the company beyond its venues in New York and Los Angeles. Additionally, Mr. Fryer will manage KFE’s new relationship with XM Satellite Radio’s XMU channel, building promotional plans for the new weekly program “Live from the Knitting Factory."

We are in the midst of refocusing our business at KFE to deliver more than the 5,000 live shows we put on for fans of emerging music in NY and LA each year," said Jared Hoffman, President and CEO of Knitting Factory Entertainment. "Fans across the country are hungry to experience the hot new acts we have on stage every night. With his considerable industry experience, Jeff will lead the charge to find means of developing, capturing and delivering original content and programming to fans everywhere across multiple platforms on behalf of our record label partners."

Prior to joining KFE, Mr. Fryer honed his marketing and promotions skills at several major record labels, coordinating and developing promotional plans for rock and alternative artists such as Pearl Jam, Good Charlotte, Audioslave, AC/DC, Chevelle, Mudvayne, among others. Most recently, he worked as coordinator at EMI Music Publishing, where he served as a liaison to artists, record labels, terrestrial radio and satellite radio for the world’s leading music publisher. Prior to EMI, Mr. Fryer spent three years with Sony Music Entertainment, working with Epic Records, Sony Music and Columbia Records. Mr. Fryer started his career in music as the general manager for Sonic Mustard Records, an independent label in Chicago, where he oversaw A&R and managed artist development, advertising and marketing.

"The Knitting Factory has been a live music institution with its finger on the pulse of hot emerging music for three decades. As KFE approaches its 20th anniversary, now is a fitting time to extend the reach beyond the walls of its venues to touch music fans everywhere," said Mr. Fryer. "Leveraging my experience working with the labels and major brands, I see a lot of opportunity for KFE as we enter a new phase of building it into a world-class emerging music powerhouse." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
