Leeds Festival Adds New Stage

LEEDS, England (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival is set to present a new stage for this year’s event, set to take place August 25-27 at Braham Park.

The Topman Stage will feature up and coming bands including unsigned acts such as Dirtblonde, Ever Since the Lake Caught Fire, Little Ze and Letters And Colours, as well as more established groups such as Polytechnic, Stoney, Champion Kickboxer, The Somatics, The Lodger and The Scaramanga Six.

Another new addition to the festival will be extended hours, with music playing until 3am.

Fan forums were conducted by the festival organizers earlier this year, to find ways to head off outbreaks of violence that marred the end of last year’s bash.

“The Fans’ Forums seemed to suggest that people got up to mischief because everything stopped at eleven o’clock at night,” explained organizer Melvyn Benn to NME.com. “I’m hoping that the later entertainment will (stop the rioting). I’m also hoping this Love Not Riots campaign will help as well. It’s only a hundred people out of tens of thousands, and the rest of the festival has such an amazing atmosphere.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
