(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — With the continued expansion of the UK’s Academy Music Group, former Carling Academy Birmingham general manager Richard Maides has been promoted to the position of Group Operations Manager.
Maides, who will be based out of the new 2,000-capacity Carling Academy Newcastle, will work with operations director Steve Forster to continue AMG’s consistency of operations across the Group and maximize commercial potential and growth for each venue, according to L&Si Online.
Steve Forster said in a statement, “Richard has successfully managed Birmingham for the last three and a half years and has proved he has the commitment and application necessary to work at an operational level. Richard will primarily support each general manager, developing commercial activity within all venues, standardising health and safety procedures and licensing issues across the Group and look to build stronger relationships with clients and promoters as we continue to grow our venue estate.”
Maides will be replaced by Carl Bathgate at the Carling Academy Birmingham. Bathgate was formerly the promoter and entertainment manager at the Liverpool University Student Union for the past six years. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
