SAN JOSE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Nederlander Concerts has been tapped to produce concerts and special events at the historic Civic Auditorium in Downtown San Jose, CA. Partnering with Team San Jose, a consortium of local businesses, Nederlander will have a dedicated local team to attract top touring artists in an effort to help revitalize the 3,000-seat venue.
In 2007, the city of San Jose has invested $13 million for renovation the venue and upgrades to the facilite have included a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, seating upgrades, more restrooms and a new concessions program. In addition to the sound and light improvements, the venue's production capability will be significantly increased to accommodate the requirements of top touring bands on the road and large scale special events.
Under Mayor Chuck Reed and San Jose City Council's leadership, a $13 million renovation of the venue, approved in 2007, has begun.
