Pete Shutler Of The Yetties Dies

SHERBORNE, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Pete Shutler, accordionist and vocalist of the English folk trio The Yetties died on Sept 21st in Sherborne Hospital from cancer. He was 68.

The Yetties, consisting of Pete Shutler leading with accordion and backup vocals, backed by Mac McCulloch on guitar, and Bonny Sartin on vocals, were a prominent folk group, with a focus on the traditional music of their home Dorset.

The group recorded more than 49 album over the course of their career and performed regularly, including at the monthly Yetties Music Nights in Sherborne, until their retirement in 2011.

In a post on the group's website, a spokesperson for the band wrote:

"I'm sorry to say that Pete passed away early on the evening of Sunday 21st of September. He finished up in Sherborne Hospital where he could not have been better treatment. The nurses knew him personally and took great care to make him as comfortable as possible. Family and friends visited him continually and the best way to remember him is to raise a glass and if you sing or play an instrument keep striving to be as good as he was." – Staff Writers
