Ringo To Play Only Two Concerts In 2005

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

Ringo Starr is only performing two concerts this year in support of his new CD Choose Love (Koch), which hits the shelves on June 7. He will play Chicago's 2,200-seat Genesse Theater on June 25, which sold out within minutes. The concert will be taped for broadcast on PBS' Soundstage.

A second concert was added for New York's Irving Plaza on June 19 with tickets on sale May 26. The two shows are part of a US promotional tour this June which Starr and his band the Roundheads, featuring Mark Hudson, with whom Starr writes and records, will be doing in support of his album. He will also be making promotional appearances in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, which will include appearances and performances on "Good Morning America;" "Letterman;" "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and more.

In addition, June 20 will see the opening of Starr's first art exhibit at New York's Pop International Art Gallery. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
