Rita Ora, Mark Ronson And Primal Scream Announced As Silver Clef Award Winners


LONDON (CelebrityAccess) – Rita Ora, Mark Ronson and Primal Scream have joined UK-based heavy metal group Iron Maiden and Il Divo as winners at the 40th Anniversary O2 Silver Clef Awards.

DJ and producer Mark Ronson will recieve the American Express Innovation Award after garnering his first UK and US number one single with Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars.

Scottish rockers Primal Scream have been named as the recipients of the Investec Icon Award for their contribution to shaping the 1990s indie pop scene.

British singer-songwriter Rita Ora has been selected as the Best Female Artist for 2015.

These artists will join previously announced winners Iron Maiden, who won the O2 Silver Clef Award and operatic pop vocal group Il Divo who will take home the PPL Classical Award.

Also announced was the shortlist of nominees for the Live Nation and Ticketmaster Best Live Act 2015. Nominated acts include: Alt-J, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Disclosure, Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Kate Bush, Pharrell, Prince, Royal Blood, Rudimental, Sam Smith, and Taylor Swift

The awards will be distributed at the at the annual O2 Silver Clef Lunch, to be held on July 3 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. – Staff Writers
