LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Well, things have certainly changed in the festival world since the Sex Pistols began nodding heads. John Lydon is now saying his peace about the loss of "free will" in the new age of money-making festivals.
The former Sex Pistol will play 11 outdoor festivals this summer with his band Public Image Ltd according to London's Daily Express, but Lydon admits that the rock 'n' roll spirit of the gigs are long gone.
He says, "Next year's gigs are booked. I love the festivals, although the spirit of free will just isn't there which festivals used to have."
"Forty years ago, festivals were stunning and now it is just people with cash in hand, which is a little tough. It is all about headlining and half the bands are miming anyway."
