Shootings On Austin's Sixth Street Leave 1 Dead, 4 Injured

AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Austin police on Sunday night issued an arrest warrant for Endicott McCray, in connection with a pair of shooting incidents in Austin's downtown entertainment district that left one woman dead and four others injured.

The first of two incidents began at 2:17 a.m. local time when police received reports of gunshots on Sixth Street in downtown Austin, the city's Police Chief of Staff Brian Manley said in a news conference.

A woman identified as Teqnika Moultrie was killed and three other victims, all women in their 30s, were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with gunshot wounds. One additional victim refused treatment.

Police said that the suspect allegedly appeared to pull his gun and fire into the crowd.

A second, apparently unrelated, incident occurred seven minutes later with police responding to reports of a shooting in a parking garage

"One individual (there) did pull out a weapon and fire it at another individual," Manley said.

McCray, who has several previous convictions for felony burglary, is due to appear in Hays County court in September for a possession of marijuana charge, CNN reported. -Staff Writers
