Ticketmaster Signs London's Jazz Cafe

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Ticketmaster announced on February 18th, a new ticketing deal with London's Jazz Cafe, which welcomed over 100,000 people through its doors in 2008.

For the first time The Jazz Cafe (http://www.jazzcafe.co.uk) will be able to sell tickets for the entire venue on line, including general admission and the seating for every restaurant table. This centralized offering has been implemented with Ticketmaster using a specially developed enhancement to Ticketmaster's booking system.

The Jazz Cafe holds 5 live events and 2 club nights each week, totaling 300 events per year and Ticketmaster's eEntry access and e-ticket solution enables the Jazz Cafe to sell tickets via the internet and over the phone for all their events. Prior to the introduction of Ticketmaster into the venue, it was not possible to book restaurant table seating on-line.

eEntry is Ticketmaster's complete access and e-ticket solution for smaller venues and remote facilities. eEntry is an affordable, flexible, and easy-to-use access control solution that enables email ticket delivery through encrypted barcode scanning. Supported by a Ticketmaster hosted server, eEntry requires no additional costly network hardware or wiring making it a perfect fit for smaller venues and remote facilities. This solution provides real-time scanning and barcode authentication at multiple and single entry points which prevents the use of counterfeit tickets. This convenient technology also provides direct access to detailed reporting and scanning activity via a personal web interface. eEntry also enables TicketFast.

With e-Entry the Jazz cafe are also able to introduce TicketFast the fast and convenient way to receive tickets as a download which can be printed at home rather than waiting for them to be posted or spending time queuing at the box office. Each ticket has a unique barcode which is scanned at the venue using Ticketmaster's eEntry. It also allows for tickets to be purchased right up to the last minute as there is no box-office collection required.

Chris Edmonds, managing director, Ticketmaster UK, said: "We are very pleased to be working with the Jazz Cafe and that we have been able to provide them with a solution enabling them to sell tickets for the entire venue, not just general access. We are now looking to make this technology available to all our existing and future clients."

Forthcoming shows at The Jazz Cafe include Mica Paris, Yolanda Brown and Meshel Ndegocello. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
