Van Halen Reportedly Cancels 2012 Summer Tour

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
Van Halen has reportedly canceled their plans for an upcoming 2012 European summer tour before even officially announcing the dates.

According to a report in Melodic Rock, the band ditched their tour plans before the dates were publically announced, but the preperations were advanced enough that dates had been locked in at various venues.

The report goes on to say that promoters were not given a reason, nor reschedule dates.

The cancellation comes hot on the heels of a canceled tour of Australia, which was set for last August. The band has been rumored to be hard at work on a new studio album with former frontman David Lee Roth and delays in the production of the album could account for the postponed tour.

The cancelled dates were:

May 28 Paris Zenith
May 30 Zuerich Hallenstadion
June 1 Barcelona Pala Jordi
June 3 Milano Arena Fiera
June 5 Dortmund Westfalenhalle
June 7 Sweden Rock Solvesborg
June 10 Download Festival Donnington
June 13 Stuttgart Schleyerhalle
June 15 Hellfest Clisson France
June 17 Fields Of Rock Festival Holland
June 19 Berlin O2 Arena
June 21 Prag
June 23 Grasspop Metal Meeting Belgium
