(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest, AFI, Hawthorne Heights and Yellowcard have all been confirmed to appear at the 2006 Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music & Arts Festival.
The event, to be held September 2-4 throughout the Seattle Center, will also feature performances by Atmosphere, Feist, Shooter Jennings, the English Beat, Deerhoof, Mates of State and Metric.
The festival will also feature a number of non-musical activities, according to Billboard, including a Flat Track Derby Invitational at KeyArena, the Flatstock poster art fair, two comedy stages, readings from various authors, and the One Reel Film Festival.
“We’re committed to the arts on the whole,” Bumbershoot artistic director Michele Scoleri told the magazine. “Also, our festival takes place on an extremely unique campus. Other festivals can be out in the middle of a field or a racetrack. The campus of Seattle Center is such a unique place thanks to all of the fantastic venues. Those spaces allow us to keep our commitment to the arts and present them in a way that’s unique and exciting.”
Tickets for the festival go on sale July 15 via Bumbershoot.org and Ticketmaster. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
