LONDON, UK (CelebrityAccess) – Music Week has today reported that independent distributor, Proper Music Group, is set to launch a dedicated press and promotions department headed up by Jo Donnelly.
Donnelly, who began her career at Columbia Records/Sony Music, was head of press for over a decade up to the mid-‘90s, during which time she worked with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Leonard Cohen. She later worked at Grapevine Records and JD Management before establishing her own PR and artist management firm in 2012.
In her new role at Proper, she will handle all UK media, including print (national and regional), online publications, radio and television, in addition to continuing to manage US band Kolars. The department itself will also absorb Proper’s existing classical and jazz PR division and become the point of contact for freelancers working on selected Proper Records releases.

The department will be based in the company’s Surrey Quays office. Initial projects include releases from Richard Thompson, Macy Gray, and Ethan Johns.
