(CelebrityAccess) – A vinyl copy of Prince’s fabled 1987 LP The Black Album has sold for $27,500 on Discogs. The album is officially the most expensive purchase ever made on the website.

The album was originally recorded as a follow up to Prince’s Sign O’ The Times, but wasn’t released until 1994 after the late music icon ordered his label, Warner Bros., to shelve it and destroy all the copies.

Unfortunately for Prince, by that point, a handful of promos were already in circulation, including the aforementioned vinyl, which also happens to be the only known copy of the LP’s original 1987 Canadian pressing. The anonymous seller is a former employee of a Toronto record pressing plant, who saved one of the copies.

The previous most expensive record sold on Discogs was also a copy of The Black Album, which went for $15,000 in 2016. Earlier this year, another copy sold for $42,298 at auction.
