HANOI (CelebrityAccess) — Seven people are dead and an unknown number are under medical care after suffering from suspected drug overdoses at an electronic music festival in Hanoi on Sunday.

According to Vietnamese state media, ambulances began transporting victims of the alleged overdoses from the festival to medical facilities at approximately 10:30 pm on Sunday night.

The festival, called Trip to the Moon and hosted Vietnam Electronic Weekend, was one of the largest EDM events in Vietnam and took place at the West Lake Park in the city’s Tay Ho District.

The festival featured international headliners Ben Nicky, Yellow Claw, and Headhunterz.

According to Vietnamese news site Vnexpress, the victims, who were all Vietnamese, tested positive for an unspecified drug which is still being investigated.

“Initial reports showed that seven people died and many others are receiving treatments at hospitals,” district’s spokeswoman, Vo Bich Thuy said, according to Vnexpress.

The incident prompted Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh to call for an investigation of the “causes and responsibilities of organizations and individuals involved” and to conduct a thorough review of policies for events held at the park.

“The incident [on Sunday] … was very painful. It was a great loss,” said Tran Xuan Ha, deputy head of the propaganda department in Hanoi’s city government.
