Allmans Set For Return To Beacon

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Allman Brothers are set for their annual stand at New York City's Beacon Theatre for a 13-date stand from March 10-26.

With the exception of a cancellation in 2008 due to Gregg Allman recovering from treatment for Hepatitis C and then the ill-fated move uptown last year to United Palace Theater, the Allmans have done a residency at the Beacon every March for the past two decades. The 2010 residency was moved because the Beacon was booked to host Cirque de Soleil's inauspicious "Banana Shpeel" which closed after a 6-week run.

"Our apologies for last year," said MSG spokesman James Dolan in reference to the move during a press conference. "That won't happen again."

"Last March was a glamorous place and all that, but the location of it was — well, we won't go into that," Gregg Allman noted at the same press conference. "Somebody told me the cab ride cost more than the ticket."

If you can't make the trip the the Big Apple, the Allmans are also set to host this year's three-day Wanee Festival in Live Oaks, Florida from April 14-16.
