LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Swedish DJ and producer Avicii has postponed all of his upcoming tour dates until next year, stating that he needs a break after an overloaded summer tour schedule.
In a statement released to Billboard, Avicii's reps said that an intensive summer tour schedule and the pressure of preparing his forthcoming album and attendant music videos were factors in his decision to postpone.
Affected dates include scheduled gigs at XS and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Storm Festival in Shanghai and Japan's Fuji-Ku Conifer Forest and Maishima Special Stage. Avicii says he will make up the dates next year as part of a "larger tour initiative."
“I look forward to keep being innovative with my team in leading a bigger change than just with my music. In moving my tour promotional responsibilities to next year, I have a great opportunity to focus on myself and spend time trying to grow up in a way I never got the chance to – normal, or as normal as it could get,” Avicii told Billboard. “My team, label and family have encouraged me to do that and I realize not many in my position get that opportunity.” – Staff Writers
