Clear Channel Entertainment will promote Shakira on her first world-tour visiting 30 countries and 50 cities throughout 2002 and 2003. Beginning November 88 in San Diego, Shakira's North American tour will visit 30 cities through February with a European stop-over in December including dates in London, Cologne and Barcelona. Tour Of The Mongoose is sponsored internationally by Pepsi and Reebok and presented by MTV in North America.
Laundry Service, Shakira's explosive first recording written with English lyrics, has now sold 9 million albums worldwide. She has racked up award after award and the sales statistics are astounding: Quintuple Platinum – India and Venezuela; Quadruple Platinum – Canada, Columbia, Egypt, Spain and Switzerland; Triple Platinum – US and Australia; and Double Platinum in Central America, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal and Turkey.
