David Eun Reveals Google’s Content Access Strategy At Midemnet

PARIS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — David Eun, Vice President Content Partnerships at Google Inc. will deliver a keynote at the 10th edition of the MidemNet international forum dedicated to reflection on the music business in the digital age. The central theme of this year’s MidemNet will be value creation through the artist/fan relationship. MidemNet runs 17-18 January 2009 in Cannes during the MIDEM world music market.

World-famous search engine Google, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, is behind more than 100 content access products and services, including YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Orkut and Picasa. New for the music industry, Google has recently launched a free download service in China, in partnership with the Top100.cn website.

At the head of this strategy, David Eun will discuss the mechanisms behind and the advantages of such diversification of content access within an economic model built around free services.

For the second year running, MidemNet is bringing together some of the key specialists in the sector in a Visionary Chair Committee. Presided over by Ted Cohen (TAG Strategic), this year Ralph Simon from the Mobile Entertainment Forum – Americas and Bruce Houghton from the Hypebot.com blog will join Chris Anderson (Wired Magazine), Sam Duann (Rock Music Group), Harvey Goldsmith CBE (Artiste Management Productions) and Terry McBride (Nettwerk Music Group) to advise on MidemNet. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
