(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Dutchess County, New York, has announced its inaugural show at their brand new band shell at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls. The grand opening event on Thursday, September 1, will feature classic rock group America, with Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic under the direction of Randall Craig Fleischer.
The event is co-sponsored by the Bardavon, 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie, NY, and local radio station WPDH 101.5. Following the performances, there will be a fireworks show over the river as a grand finale.
County executive William R. Steinhaus said in a statement, “This new venue will provide county residents the opportunity to enjoy musical and theatre productions while experiencing the breathtaking views of the majestic Hudson River as a backdrop.
He continued, “This is a continuation of Dutchess County’s commitment to enhance our county parks for the enjoyment of our residents.”
