Leicester Music Festival Voluntarily Enters Liquidation

LEICESTER, UK (CelebrityAccess) — LMF Leisure Ltd, the company which produced the Leicester Music Festival last year, has gone into voluntary liquidation.

Held at the Leicester Tigers Stadium, the 2-day festival debuted in 2014 and featured a lineup that included Union J, Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, Soul II Soul, Labrinth, The Saturdays, Diversity, UB40, Sam Bailey, and Billy Ocean.

According to a report by local newspaper the Leicester Mercury, the company made the decision to liquidate due to the event's poor ticket sales.

“There is not really a lot to say, to be honest," LMF Leisure Co-founder Shane Whitfield told the Leicester Mercury. “There are no outstanding debts, nothing owed to creditors, just ourselves as investors.”

Whitfield added that they intend to re-launch the company in 2016 under a different name with an eye to bringing a similar festival to a better market.

“It is a sad state of affairs. It would have been better to take it to London or Birmingham,” a fellow co-founder of the company who asked not to be named added. – Staff Writers
