Mean Fiddler Ponders An Offer For London Venues

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The MAMA Group, an equity firm which has been buying up music real estate has reportedly tendered an offer for a number of Mean Fiddler's London venues.

According to the report on NME.com, the offer includes The Old Mean Fiddler, The Jazz Cafe, The Garage, The Borderline, the G.A.Y. Bar and G.A.Y. Late.

Not included in the deal would be Mean Fiddler's festivals, including Carling, Reading and Leeds, nor the Astoria.

"We consider the offer to be positive and are currently awaiting confirmation of that offer being confirmed before a final decision is to be taken. We anticipate the offer to be formalized in early August." said Melvin Benn, Managing Director of the Mean Fiddler Music Group.

The MAMA Group describes itself as a publicly-held company which is focused on the music and media businesses. Organized into three divisions, the Barfly Network operates the Hammersmith Apollo and The Forum, both of which were acquired from Mean Fiddler earlier this year.

They also provide production and artist management, music publishing and distribution along with a robust magazine publishing arm focused on the music industry. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
