iPhones Not For Everyone

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The rank and file of the entertainment industry probably shouldn't be holding their breaths in anticipation while they await for iPhones to be issued from their firms.

According to a story in Variety, most of the major agencies have been telling employees that the latest Apple chrome isn't up to snuff for use in a business environment.

Some companies have even gone so far as to issue statements to employees informing them of such. One, sent by Warner, explained that the phone "lacks key security features which make it unsuitable, in its present form, as a corporate email device. At WB and all of TW, we have standardized on the Blackberry and expect to continue with this standard."

Other aspects of the iPhone may prove challenging in the phone's efforts to become fundamental. A lack of a physical keyboard make make the phone a weak sister for dedicated road warriors who are more used to the Blackberry's built-in keyboard.

This isn't to say that the latest in hot products won't become a familiar site around town. The hype around the iPhone has given it a certain cachet, one that is bound to put the slick device in the hands of the image-conscious.

"I'll make my booty calls with the iPhone and get reamed in the ass by my boss on my Blackberry," opined one un-named studio exec to Variety. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
