DUBLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — MCD chief Denis Desmond has promised that there will be tight security at a series of concerts scheduled for Dublin's Marlay Park this weekend following a series of assaults that occured at an MCD promoted show in Phoenix Park in July. Nine concert-goers were stabbed at the July show by electronic act Swedish House Mafia.

Desmond told the Daily Mail that security will be conducting searches on entry with both pat-downs and metal-detecting scanners, as well as employing sniffer dogs.

“We do the quick body search, the frisk, we put the wand up and down. But we have created areas with the police where there will be full, thorough body searches of people. And that will be a deterrent for that small minority of people who are intent (on causing trouble).” Desmond told the paper.

“At Kasabian on Thursday and Guetta, there will be sniffer dogs and there will be body searches carried out by gardai[Irish Police]. There will be zero tolerance on public drinking.” Desmond added.

Kasabian plays at the park on Thursday, followed by DJ/Producer David Guetta on Friday with a Van Morrison show scheduled for Saturday. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
