GRANT COUNTY, WA – A Portland man died after attending the Paradiso music festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre.
According to NBC affiliate KNDO, Beau B. Brooks, 22, died Sunday at a Wenatchee hospital. The Grant County Sheriff's Office said that early indications suggest that Brook's death may be drug, or heat related, but the official cause of death was pending an analysis by the Chelan County Coroner's Office.
"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the man who passed away for unknown reasons after attending this weekend's festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre. After two days of wonderful celebration, it is absolutely heartbreaking to experience a loss of life. We ask that you keep those closest to him in your thoughts and prayers. Fan safety is always a high priority and we are dedicated to creating a safe environment for our guests. Our community is a caring one and we all must remain committed to looking out for each other," festival promoter Live Nation said in a press release following Brooks' death.
KNDO reported that between Thursday and Sunday, 40-50 festival-goers were hospitalized for health issues related to drugs or alcohol. – Staff Writers
