RACINE, WI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rik Edgar has been named Executive Director of the Racine Civic Centre, VenuWorks President/CEO Steve Peters announced. The Racine Civic Centre is in Racine, Wis., and is managed by VenuWorks.
Edgar comes to Racine from the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was an Operations Supervisor at the Wells Fargo Arena, Veterans Auditorium and Hy-Vee Hall. He previously was a member of the box office staff at the Colonial Center (now Colonial Life Arena) at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
“Racine is a great community and I look forward to the opportunities these buildings offer,” said Edgar. “We will be working to aggressively market the two Halls and its meeting spaces locally and will continue to work on bringing regional and national acts including comedians and children’s shows.”
Before getting into the entertainment industry, Edgar worked for the state of South Carolina commerce department developing marketing and sales materials. He also worked as a business manager in the health care field. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
