NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) — Veteran booker Sonny Schneidau, a fixture for more than 30 years of the New Orleans music scene, has announced that he's stepping down from his current position as talent buyer for the House of Blues.
The exact timing of Schneidau's departure has yet to be determined, and he will remain while the venue transitions to a new talent buyer.
"The decision to step down is based on my desire to make a change after 22 years," Schneidau said in a press statement. "It has been a dream come true to continue serving the live music lovers in my beloved hometown."
"Sonny's contribution to the live music business and to House of Blues Entertainment is immeasurable," House of Blues Entertainment CEO Ben Weeden said in a statement. "He has been the cornerstone of our club business in New Orleans for over two decades. His early work with House of Blues helped lay the groundwork for the future development of House of Blues venues and a national touring strategy which is now an industry standard." – Staff Writers
