SXSW Music Conference and Festival Marks 19th Year


(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The 2005 SXSW Music Conference and Festival, now in its 19th year, is set for March 16-20 in Austin, TX at the Austin Convention Center. As in previous years, it will feature 60+ panel discussions, interviews, demo listening sessions and workshops with 235 panelists from all walks of the industry.

Highlights will include:
Robert Plant's keynote speech on March 17 and SXSW Interviews featuring Elvis Costello on March 16, Shawn Fanning and Mavis Staples on March 18, and Erykah Badu on March 19. Panels will include
Young and Over the Hill: A&R After 30; Ringtones as an Income Stream;
and Brian Wilson's Smile Project. March 16's Crash Courses offer
basic information and cover topics of interest to working musicians
and aspiring music professionals alike.

Spanning five nights, the music festival will present 1,200 musical performers with genres ranging from hip-hop to alt country on 59
stages in venues ranging from the most intimate clubs to Auditorium
