The Great Zombie Airlift

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Zombies were stuck. The band, slated to play at two different benefits in New York on Tuesday night, was stranded by the Air France plane crash in Toronto just hours before the show, according to Canadian press. They called Paul Shaffer who, in addition to his duties as the lead in The David Letterman Show's 'The World's Most Dangerous Band', was hosting the benefits. Quick to react, Shaffer contacted Letterman who arranged to fly the Zombies into town with his own private jet from nearby Hamilton. The first performance was scheduled for 7:30, but start until 8:45. “He saved the day,” Robert Rowland, The Zombies' agent, said of Letterman. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
