SYDNEY, (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Rolling Stones have announced that they are expanding on their planned tour of Australia, the band's first since 2006.
Set for March and April, the Stones were already booked for a date for the Adelaide Oval on March 22, but the tour been expanded to include shows in Meblourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Hanging Rock in Victoria.
In a statement on the bands' website, Mick Jagger wrote: "Can’t wait to reconnect with all our friends in Australia & New Zealand. It’s been a while since we’ve played to you all, so we are looking forward to being back on stage & playing your favourite songs."
Promoter Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski said “It’s been a life long ambition of mine to bring the legendary Stones back down under and I cannot say how excited I am about their 2014 tour. With just one night only confirmed for each city plus a very special one-off concert at Hanging Rock, this tour will be talked about for decades to come.”
