LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Alexandra Shannon, Creative Artists Agency’s head of strategic development says that artificial intelligence will create a wealth of new opportunities for the entertainment industry.

Shannon’s remarks came at the Fortune Brainstorm AI conference in London this week during a panel on AI’s disruption of the creative industry.

During the panel session, Shannon was upbeat on the potential of A.I. to continue the performing legacy of artists even after they die.

According to Shannon, CAA is creating the ‘CAA Vault’ a collection of digital likenesses for clients, scanning their image, voice, and likeness which they then store for future use.

“The purpose of this is that on one hand, we know that the law is going to take time to catch up, and so this is a mechanism for our clients to actually own and have permissions around their digital identity,” she said.

She pointed to companies such as ABBA Voyage, which is creating A.I. powered digital simulacrums of the legendary Swedish band ABBA for simulated live performances.

“I think those sorts of experiences are ways to continue reaching fans for generations to come is a powerful opportunity,” Shannon said, adding “They are still able to reach fans and engage with fans in the right way.”

She went on to note that the approach if simulating artists with A.I. isn’t cheap.

“If you’re going to work with somebody’s digital self, you aren’t working with that business because you think you can work with that person in a cheaper way that is creating some big cost efficiency for you,” she told the audience.
