Work Progressing On Live Nation's Irving Music Factory

IRVING, Texas (CelebrityAccess) — Construction at the Irving Music Factory, a Live Nation-anchored, mixed-use development in Las Colinas, is well underway.

The project, which is estimated to cost more than $200 million to complete, will include a 4,000-seat concert hall called Pavilion at The Music Factory. The capacity of the venue can be doubled to an 8,000-seat amphitheater through the use of motorized doors, allowing a grassy area outside of the venue access to the performance space.

“[It’s] got some overhead doors on the south side that will open up to the 50,000 square foot plaza, so it’ll be kind of a nice indoor/outdoor venue,” Eric Bunner with Skanska Construction told CBS News. “They can take in a concert and spend the evening. Spend the day. There’s a 50 square foot plaza that has an outdoor stage, music is available out there. It will be an incredible venue for people to come and spend the day.”

The 17-acre development also includes retail space, more than a dozen restaurants, a movie theater, and an office complex.

Live Nation is expected to announce the inaugural act for the venue’s debut in the next couple of weeks. The venue is set to be open by Labor Day weekend. – Staff Writers
