LONDON, (CelebrityAccess) -– The Agency Group has added Andy Townsend to the London office, where he will oversee a new comedy division at the agency.
Townsend will collaborate with TAG's literary department, which has seen recent success with Jessie Burton’s breakthrough novel 'The Miniaturist.'
Prior to joining TAG, Townsend was at Kilimanjaro Live, promoting and producing comedy and spoken word shows and tours for the likes of Aziz Ansari, Kevin Hart, Paul Hollywood, Jake & Amir and Red Bastard.
Before that, he set up PIAS Comedy in the UK, acquiring and releasing comedy content from artists including Jeff Dunham, Russell Peters, Kevin Hart, Gabriel Iglesias, Tommy Tiernan, Richard Herring and Brendon Burns. Townsend was integral in launching the PIAS Comedy international distribution network and the 'Comedy Station' YouTube channel.
“I’m bringing in Andy to compliment what we are already doing in our very successful literary department and to enhance our eventual ambitions to move into TV production. These departments will all work together and will create the gravitas of what we do – authors will feed into TV as will comedy writers. I’m very much looking forward to working with him."
