Desert Trip Not Making A Return In 2017

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — AEG's Paul Tollett has revealed that Goldenvoice's high profile Desert Trip festival won't be returning in 2017.

"We're not doing Desert Trip this year," Tollett told Billboard. "We loved 2016 Desert Trip — that was a special moment in time. Maybe someday in the future, we'll do something similar."

Admittedly, the festival would have been hard to replicate. The lineup, featuring a who's who of classic rock icons, including The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, seemed to many observers to be a once in a lifetime affair and big shoes to fill for future shows.

As well, the company has also announced the debut of a new festival, Arroyo Seco, which will take place in Pasadena, California from June 24-25, which Tollett is overseeing, as well as the Monterey International Pop Festival's 50th-anniversary show with co-founder Lou Adler and Another Planet Entertainment, which will take place on June 16-18.
