Fire at Jazz at Lincoln Center

A fire broke out in the Jazz at Lincoln Center area of the 6th floor of the new AOL Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in the early morning of April 8. This area will house the new Jazz at Lincoln Center performing arts facility, Frederick P. Rose Hall. Due to the rapid response and tremendous effort of the FDNY, the fire was extinguished quickly. Jazz at Lincoln Center, the FDNY and the construction teams are currently assessing the cause and the extent of the damage.

"At this point, Jazz at Lincoln Center is not anticipating any changes to our original construction schedule and the planned grand opening in the fall of 2004," a venue spokesperson said.
