Mayhem Following Nelly In Vegas

LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Violence erupted on the Las Vegas Strip after a Nelly concert at the Aladdin Hotel & Casino on May 21st.

Police reported several fights and a shooting in the Aladdin complex, and have three people under arrest and several confiscated guns. Two people were hit when somebody fired nearly 10 shots into a small crowd, police said.

Investigators are trying to determine if the violence and concert were at all related.

One shot hit a security guard in the head, who is now listed in good condition. Another shot hit a man in the hand, who was treated and released at a nearby hospital, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

As police responded to the first shootings, they received reports of gunfire in the parking garage. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot in the buttocks.

One juvenile has been arrested in connection with the shootings, and investigators have detained several more. Others were charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a stolen gun.

Amy Sadowsky, a spokeswoman for the Aladdin, told the paper that security was high for the Nelly concert because about 6,600 people attended.

“We believe our security was adequate, because we had no incidents in the concert venue or in the casino. The incidents didn’t occur on our property.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
