QUEENSTOWN, NZ (CelebrityAccess) — Organizers for France’s Snowboxx Festival, announced that a planned expansion into New Zealand for the festival brand was being pushed back by a year due to ‘scheduling conflicts.’
The festival, which fuses winter sports and EDM music, was slated to bring a “weeks-long program of international music and events” to Queenstown with the event hosted by Coronet Peak and the Remarkables, according to the Ontago Daily Times.
A statement from the festival’s promoters said: “We’ve been fighting to get Snowboxx NZ launched and ready for the thousands of you that signed up. Due to a scheduling conflict within Queenstown, we will now be launching in September 2020 instead of September 2019. Sales for this will launch in Spring 2019 and we cannot wait to bring our incredible show to you.”
“If you haven’t signed up yet and want to be notified about the event please subscribe to our newsletter on www.snowboxx.nz as we’ll be sending out some information over the coming months on what is happening. 2020 is set to be a huge year!”
Snowboxx’s home event is still scheduled to take place in Avioraz, France from 23-30 March 2019, and organizers announced that travel website Jet2.com has signed on as the ‘official airline partner’ for the festival. Jet2.com will offer discounted flights to the event from six different airports in the United Kingdom.
Alan Crofton, festival director, Snowboxx, says: “Partnering with Jet2.com is a perfectly aligned brand association for Snowboxx. We offer a fully bespoke built booking system for the festival that is made unique by offering flights as part of the customer packages.
“We are incredibly excited to be working with Jet2.com for the upcoming festival and hopefully for many years to come.”
