NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena was honored as the top large capacity casino in the US in 2019 at the 13th annual ACM Honors on Wednesday night.
Mohegan Sun Arena bested rivals Casino Rama, Grand Casino Hinckley, Sandia Casino Amphitheater, and WinStar Global Event Center to take top honors for 2019.
The award was presented during a ceremony dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Last night in Nashville, Mohegan Sun Arena won its 8th ACM Award. This does not happen without our friends in country music who are like family,” said Tom Cantone, Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment for Mohegan Sun.
“This year we booked more than 110 country artists at our MGE properties, many helping to make our arena one of the Top 10 venues in the U.S. and Top 20 on the World today. I always wanted our venue to be as popular as the stars who play it and the wonderful people who run,” Cantone added.
“A big thank you on this special night and we look forward to even more programming as we expand into Canada and soon Asia,” he concluded.
