CMW Names Craib & Copnick As Co-Chairs For CMW 2011


TORONTO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Canadian Music Week has tapped Sony Music Canada's Warren Copnick and S.L. Feldman's Jeff Craib to serve as co-chairs for CMW 2011, which is set to take place from March 9-13 in Toronto.

Copnick, a 20-year industry veteran is currently Sony Music Canada's Director of National Promotion Radio/Video where his portfolio includes developing and implementing promotional strategies for all of the artists on the label's roster. Known among his colleagues as "The Kosher Cowboy", Copnick has played a major role in Canadian country music format and the recording careers of a who's who of country artists including Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, and Brooks and Dunn. No slouch in philanthropic efforts, Copnick is supporter of the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund having co-founded the annual Weaselpalooza charity party, which in its first nine years has raised in excess of $200,000.

With more than 20 years in the industry and a solid reputation for developing Canadian artists, Jeff Craib currently serves as Senior Vice-President of S.L. Feldman and Associates. Craib's roster spans numerous genres, including pop, rock and hip hop and his client list includes major artists such as The Tragically Hip and Nelly Furtado. In addition to artist representation, Craib is also active in music marketing, talent buying, sponsorship and his expertise is often called on as a consultant by a variety of companies.

This will be the 29th year for CMW, one of the leading entertainment confabs in Canada. Included under CMW's aegis is a well-regarded trade show, a music festival staged at numerous venues around Toronto, a film festival and the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards.
