Comedy Festival Planned In Durham Canada

DURHAM, Ontario (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Canadian promoter Rich Weisz is putting together a new comedy festival in Durham, slated for Sept. 15, 16 and 17.

Weisz is aiming to bring some big names to the festival to perform at local venues such as the General Motors Centre and Regent Theatre. The festival will also feature smaller, free events staged at other venues around the market.

In addition, organizers for the festival are planning a Comedy Parade, potentially the first of its' kind. According to Canadian news source Oshawa This Week, Weisz envisions paraders dressed as Charlie Chaplin and the Three Stooges.

"This is something that's going to bring international attention to Durham and be a lot of fun," Weisz told the paper. "I mean, who doesn't like comedy?"

A portion of the proceeds from the fest will go to benefit the Make a Wish Canada. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
