WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — Two-time Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey will be featured at a gala concert on Sept. 29 at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit The Kevin Spacey Foundation, which supports scholarships and grants for emerging artists.
Spacey, who played Bobby Darin in the 2004 film "Beyond the Sea," told the Associated Press that he will perform standards from the swing era, and popular classics from the Great American Song Book accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra. The actor will also share stories and promises a surprise guest or two.
"We're hoping to expand these scholarships in lots of universities and drama schools around the country. Our intention is to continue to grow and expand our reach," Spacey told the Associated Press. "In large measure it's because I'm a recipient of these kinds of things." – Staff Writers
